American Artists, a.k.a. AA Reps proudly represents: Stan Watts
Stan Watts was born in Oklahoma 1952, received a degree in Advertising Design from the University of Oklahoma 1974, and apprenticed at the Sketch Pad, in Arlington, Texas under Don Ivan Punchatz 1973-1976. Early works were produced for clients such as National Lampoon, Avon Books, Playboy, Texas Monthly, and Penthouse.
Located in Los Angeles, from ‘79-‘96, Watts was internationally represented and developed a distinctive, dramatic photographic approach to illustration.
He received two Key Art Awards. One for work done for Sea World,one for the movie one sheet,The Howling. He also received two Grammies for Best Album Art, Polygram Records, and was featured in numerous JCA Annuals, and books such as, Outstanding American Illustrators, and NYSI Illustrators Annuals.
Watts is currently located in Austin, Texas,and has translated his traditional style of illustration, into a digital format.
